With a difficult preseason session on Tuesday and a friendly last night Its been a tough week for the players but they have all put the work in and responded well. We held a session tonight and the boys once again put the work in. Really cant fault the effort. WELL DONE!
Although it was her night off from extensive traveling, tonight we had a special visitor at preseason training as Jill the 'briggs' Bear popped to the Cefn to visit the 2017 Cup champions and her presence spurred the lads on and made all the aches and pains go away given the reason why she was there. So, who is Jill and why was she in the Cefn? Jill is Briggs Equipment UK 2017 mascot for their chosen charity of the year. This year Briggs equipment has partnered with Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children to help transform young lives.
Newlife is the UK's largest charity provider of specialist equipment for children for children with disabilities and terminal illness. Since June 17 more than 3,859 hours have been dedicated to fundraising and Briggs staff have already raised more than £10,000 which is fantastic and for a great cause.
Jill the bear is on her own fundraising mission by going on a journey to Briggs depots and customer sites, raising awareness and collecting donations. Starting at Briggs HQ, Cannock, Staffordshire, in June staff are showing her the sites and reporting back to HQ with photos from her travels before choosing her next destination and sending her off to continue her mission.
