Our first team cruised into the semi-final of the league cup with a comfortable 3-0 home victory against Coedpoeth United.

Cefn started brightly and leading scorer Oli Davies fired the Albion ahead just after 5 minutes with a well taken left footed goal. Cefn continued to dominate the early stages but the away side did ask one or two questions but Harry Thomas was more than equal to anything that was asked. 1-0 HT

Second half the lads come out and the tempo seemed to have been upped and the passing seemed to be much better. The Albion pushed for another goal to give them a two goal cushion but they were denied by the crossbar. At the other end a rare attack from the away team almost ended with a goal only for the crossbar to deny once again. The next goal soon arrived when Oli Davies broke the offside and cool rounded the goal keeper to smash in his and the teams second. It was visible to see that this goal knocked the away team and heads were down. Oli Davies completed his hatrick with a well taken left footed strike from.outside the area. The game saw another excellent performance from young Dion Gibbins who bossed the midfield from start to finish, it was also an excellent clean sheet for our defence who defended resiliently when called upon.

The quarter final win means that the team will now face Corwen in the semi-final .
