Despite missing at least four key senior players our first team run out comfortable winners at the recreation ground and are up and running for the new season.
We started the game brightly and Mario Duarte should have put us 1-0 up on around 10 minutes but further dominance and pressure finally paid off when a well taken goal from Lee Jones gave us a deserved lead on around 18 mins of play. Shortly after going one nil to the good Oliver Davies doubled the lead with a well taken goal from close range. It was then time for new signing Lee Phelan to shine and get himself a debut goal with a spectacular curler into the top bin. Oliver Davies grabbed his second goal of the game with a strike equal to that of Lee's to make it 4-0. The hosts had a chance to pull one back just before half time with a penalty but Joe Davies saved it to keep them out. 0-4 HT
Second half the home team come out more positive and scored early on from a direct free kick to make it 1-4 but further goals from Oliver Davies (completed hat-trick), Andrew Jones & Lee Jones (brace) made it 1-7. A late mistake near the end of play gifted Overton a consolation.
