In recent weeks performances have been there but we've not picked up the results. However, it was only a matter of time before the effort from the lads was rewarded and no better way than a 0-3 away victory in the local derby against Penycae FC.

From the very first whistle our lads took it to the hosts and in truth we're showing more heart and more desire which is sometimes what wins you a local derby. Some good opportunities noticeably from Alex Williams and Oli Davies went begging but on the half hour the prolific Oli Davies caught former keeper Josh Roberts off his line and curled in a spectacular 30 yard lob to put the Albion deservedly 1-0 up going into the break.

Second half, as expected the home team did ask some more questions of the lads but Nathan Aldridge in the sticks pulled off some excellent saves and the boys were putting their bodies on the line to keep the shoreline. We always looked dangerous going forward and on 70mins leading scoring Oli Davies doubled his tally and the lead when he latched on to a loose ball in the box and made no mistake from close range. In all fairness the home team pushed to get back in the game but the win was confirmed when substitute Josh Foulkes latched on to a through ball and secured all three points with a cool finish over Roberts in the cae goal.

It was a good day for the cefners and a win that moves us in the right direction in the table. We finally get the reward that our recent performances have warranted. We now look forward to next week’s away fixture at Queen's Park in the league.

Thank you to all the supporters who made the short trip up to the riverside, there was plenty of you up there and you made yourself heard.
