With games coming thick and fast the management rested a few for our welsh cup fixture at Penyffordd Lions. With Oli Davies and Jimmy Jones unavailable in come 16 year old Josh Mazzerella and Conner Kendrick. Captain Paul Muncher Griffiths & Kien Morris were carrying knocks from midweek but were named on the bench along with with Jamie Foulkes. Despite the changes we still had a strong team to try and get our name in the hat for the next round draw.

It was a poor opening half hour which truth be told offered little football on a very bad overgrown surface. Despite Albion hitting the post it was the hosts who opened the scoring from a set piece. Things got worse for Cefn when they conceded a silly penalty which was successfully converted to make it 2-0. The Albion did respond and were awarded a pen which Sean Jones slotted home. 2-1 HT with all the action coming in the last 15.

Second half Kien Morris and Jamie Foulkes were introduced to try and liven things up and get Albion back into the game. We huffed and puffed and missed so excellent chances which seems to be the theme at the moment. Midway through the second half the referee brandished two straight red cards one coming for the hosts for a late tackle on Sean Jones and one going to make shift center back Nic Jones who brought down the striker as the last man. In the final moments there were two further goals with the Lions making it 3-1 but Conner Kendrick pulled one back moments later. In the dying second we were presented with a glorious opportunity which was blazed over. After the final whistle there is no complaints from us the team that wanted it more is deservedly in the hat and we wish them all the best.
