Nightingale House to Benefit From Albion’s 2018 Christmas Do

On Saturday the 22nd of December players, management and supporters connected to Cefn Albion football club will get together for the annual Christmas drink. Following the recent Bike Ride charity event success which saw us donate 1,100 to nightingale house hospice, this year we decided to use the opportunity to raise some more money for the Charity which is very close to the football clubs’ heart. Nicky Jones, who does no end of fundraising for our club has organised a pool and darts knockout competition costing £5 to enter with all proceeds kindly being donated towards Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham, North Wales.

Last year the response was fantastic with over 40 lads pulling on their Christmas Jumpers and getting involved. During the afternoon we also sold raffle tickets which helped take the final total raised to £272. This amount was combined with the money that got raised at the annual Billy Evans and Pauline Griffiths Christmas quiz which takes place at the Cefn Legion at 20:00 on the 25th of December.

Last year’s competition winners who claimed all the bragging rights for the last 12 months were Nicky Jones and Oliver Davies who claimed the Darts championship and Nicky Jones and Torne Samuels who were crowned pool champions. Last year we had a tremendous response from within the community with many donating prizes towards the raffle. The amount of people that turned up last year and made a huge effort wearing Christmas Jumpers made it a successful day. Let’s go bigger and better this year and make it a day/night to remember!
