Return of the Wack

We are delighted to announce that Stephen 'Wacky' Davies will be returning home to Cefn Albion Football club as joint first team manager.

As the 2015/16 season drew to a close to everyone's disappointment wacky made the difficult decision to step down from his position as first team manager due to commitments. Working alongside Stephen Lloyd-Jones he helped the club win a total of five trophies (including two league titles) during two very successful seasons.

Following his departure, with the club due to start life in the WNL premier division the committee moved quickly and appointed Lloydy and Sean 'micro' Jones as manager and player manager respectively. Lloydy & Micro have done a fantastic job steadying the ship and the first team have made a decent start to life in the Prem. However, when wacky expressed a desire to return the committee, Lloydy and Micro all had their say to which they all agreed that it's in the best interest of the club to fetch wacky back into the fold.

The appointment only means a small restructure in the hierarchy and will now see Wacky as manager, Micro as player manager and Lloydy as coach. Of course all three will continue to work very closely and help 'manage' our first team and attempt to consolidate a respectable league finish this season. However, Lloydy will now be responsible for all the coaching and development for both the first and reserve teams.

One recent but noticeable change has been with our reserve team where a decision was made to introduce a younger breed of players so that we can plan for the foreseeable future of Cefn Albion Football Club. Lloydy is a qualified coach who currently holds a B license. His skills and his vast experience in this field qualify him perfectly for this role and he will no doubt prove to be vital to the current crop of players and all the young boys coming through the ranks.

All of this means that Wacky will join up with the first team with immediate effect and will be in the dugout this Saturday for the home fixture against FC Nomads (which is sponsored by Matthew & Adam bottmoley of Matts barber shop).

We would like to welcome wacky back home and wish him, Lloydy and Micro all the best in their respective roles with Cefn Albion Football Club.
